Karin Innes is a partner in FB Rice’s Melbourne biotechnology team, specialising in biotechnology and life sciences technologies including stem cells, immunology, CAR-T and dendritic cell technologies, antibodies, aptamers, medical devices, diagnostics, PCR technology, women’s health, gene therapy, and virology. She advises clients across all stages of patent procurement, strategy, due diligence, and freedom-to-operate, working closely with them to ensure IP strategy supports commercial objectives.

Karin regularly acts in opposition proceedings before the Australian and New Zealand patent offices and advises on IP aspects of ASX listings, including prospectus preparation and ASX announcements. She has been recognised in the IAM Prosecution recommended list each year since 2020.
