Andrew Pask
Chief Biology Officer, Colossal Biosciences
Andrew Pask, Ph.D. is Chief Biology Officer at Colossal Biosciences, where he oversees global developmental biology strategies across all de-extinction projects. A longtime advisor to Colossal, he stepped into the role full-time in 2025.
Pask leads the Thylacine Integrated Genomic Restoration Research Lab (TIGGR) at the University of Melbourne which recently became Colossal Australia. His team drives the thylacine de-extinction project and other conservation efforts, including cane toad resistance in northern quolls, native frog and bird protection, and artificial womb development.
Pask’s scientific excellence, leadership, and high-impact research has earned him consecutive highly competitive fellowships and awards throughout his career. Internationally recognized for his pioneering work in marsupial biology, reproductive technologies, and de-extinction science, Pask has received consecutive competitive fellowships and top research awards in both Australia and the U.S. including the prestigious National Health and Medical Research Council Fellowships, the Australian Research Council Future Fellowship, and the University of Melbourne’s flagship R@MAP Fellowship. Pask is also an Emerging Researcher Award recipient in the U.S., a Fellow of the Society for Reproductive Biology, and winner of the University of Melbourne’s top two research awards.
Pask completed his Ph.D. at La Trobe University and postdoctoral work at the University of Melbourne and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. He later held a faculty position at the University of Connecticut before returning to Melbourne.
