Senior Researcher and HRC Sir Charles Hercus Fellow at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute

Gonzalo Maso Talou is a senior researcher and HRC Sir Charles Hercus Fellow at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. He is the leader of the Animus Laboratory, focusing on the integration of the nervous system with other physiologic systems. His research combines computational modelling and deep learning strategies to accelerate physics and image processing, analyse neurodynamics and enhance human-computer interaction. The main applications of his research focus on detecting emotional and physiological states via wearables, providing advanced biofeedback, and effectively delivering cognitive behavioural therapy interventions for managing chronic diseases.
