Hema Sridhar is the Deputy Director at Koi Tū Centre for Informed Futures. Hema has led Koi Tū’s strategic work at the intersection of technology, governance, and societal resilience, addressing the complex, long-term wicked problems that challenge Aotearoa New Zealand’s future. She specialises in the impact of emerging and disruptive technologies, helping decision-makers navigate the complexities and understand the policy implications.

As a former Chief Science Advisor for Defence, Hema brings nearly 20 years of experience in national security, policy, risk thinking, foresight, and governance expertise. At Koi Tū, she champions the use of strategic foresight and systems thinking to bridge the gap between research, policy, and the private sector. Hema is a frequent contributor to international policy forums, including the International Science Council and the United Nations.
