JR is the CEO of cell therapy manufacturing company, BioOra Limited. JR has more than 30 years of investment experience including 12 years with Merrill Lynch Investment Management in Europe, where he was an investment manager for a number of publicly traded investment funds, and as the Head of Emerging Technologies for a large banking group in Australasia. He is currently the chair of a number of biotechnology start-ups in New Zealand, and is part of the leadership team of Bridgewest Ventures New Zealand, board member of the NZTech Alliance, and member of the Executive Council of BioTechNZ. He was awarded Life Membership of the Child Cancer Foundation by Dame Patsy Reddy in 2017 for his longstanding support to children with cancer, and has been an active member with a number of other NGOs including CanTeen and the One Percent Collective Trust.
