The Life Sciences Summit Returns for 2025

We can’t wait to reconnect at Aotearoa New Zealand’s 2025 Life Science Summit – Uniting biology and technology to unleash potential. 18-19 March, 2025 at Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre. Click here to pop it in your calendar now.

The NZ government’s decision to set up a biotech regulator will prove a major boost for industries using gene technologies, and the 2025 Life Sciences Summit provides the perfect forum to discuss these developments and what they mean for Aotearoa’s life sciences community.

BioTechNZ’s executive director Dr Zahra Champion welcomed the announcement, saying, “current regulations for genetic technologies are outdated and not fit for purpose. For years they have been hampering companies and researchers from keeping pace with scientific advancements and have been stifling innovation. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to enabling New Zealanders to responsibly and safely open up access to the benefits of gene technology, which is crucial for addressing critical challenges in agriculture, healthcare, and environmental sustainability,”

Don’t miss the chance to be part of the conversation that will shape this new era in biotech and life sciences for Aotearoa New Zealand. Join BioTech NZ and NZTech in Wellington at the Life Sciences Summit 2025.
